Oakdale United Methodist Church
LOVE GROWS HERE

Oakdale hosted a book signing for the Oakdale Cotton Mills book and DVD. The decoratios were very nice and turnout was even nicer!

Wesley's Covenant Prayer Lord make me what you will. I put myself fully into your hands: put me to doing, put me to suffering, let me be employed for you, or laid aside for you, let me be full, let me be empty, let me have all things, let me have nothing. I freely and with a willing heart give it all to your pleasure and disposal.

Here are a few of our members serving lunch at the Open Door Shelter in High Point.

Sandwich Ministry

Our monthly Sandwich Ministry for the homeless is funded solely by donations, and is running low on money. Please consider increasing your donation to the brown jar in the Narthex. Thank you for your support!

As the above photo indicates, Oakdale sure has some hard-working parishoners!  Thanks to these ladies, and several more, Oakdale earned some contributions for our Sandwich Ministry at the Community Festival!

Littlest Angels Care Packages

Mary Barton and the Littlest Angels are asking for donations of trial size shampoos, soaps, hand lotions and wash cloths. These items will be used in care packages that will be handed out to the homeless during our monthly Sandwich Ministry at the Open Door Ministries of High Point.

C L O T H I N G      C L O S E T

In 2009, our Good Samaritans Group opened a "clothing closet THRIFT STORE" in the fellowship hall basement to serve the needs of our community.  Our goal is to offer organizations in High Point, Jamestown and Greensboro a source to have clothing available for their clients.  We will have an asssortment of clothing and shoes for men, women and children.  Most items will be $1 or less.

We are also collecting formal dresses to have available for $10 or less.

If you would like to donate any clothing, shoes, and formal wear to this ministry, you may bring them to the fellowship hall or with you on Sunday.

THE CLOSET IS OPEN THE FIRST SATURDAY OF EVERY MONTH.  Appointments may be made during the day or evening, please contact:  Jane Haney 454-4525 or the church office 887-1685.

We are expanding our clothing closet, so keep us in mind for all clothing and other donations to help those less fortunate!

Aluminum Can Collection

Oakdale UMC is continuing to collect aluminum cans, with all proceeds going to our building fund.  Please donate your used cans to our collection!

Enjoying a gorgeous day, great fellowship, music and food all while contributing to our Sandwich Ministry!

Captivated by riveting performances!
